The primary roles and responsibilities of this person would be to install, configure, support, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and provide for system administration on various clustered Unix Operating Systems and layer products, Microsoft Operating Systems and layered products, and third party software products. These operating systems and third party products are used to support the customer's vast array of systems and applications in a 24 x 7 environment. The candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of network administration in a TCP/IP environment with the ability to configure systems and appropriate network devices, i.e., routers, etc., as required for network connectivity. The candidate must be knowledgeable in hardware and software configuration to support the previous mentioned environments including intelligent disk sub-systems. A knowledge of HP's OpenView SNP product and concepts would be desirable. The systems involved are very complex real-time command and control systems that require this candidate to possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills, verbal communications skills, technical writing skills for documentation purposes, and the ability to interface to the customer and vendors as required. The candidate must provide the ability to understand and program various Unix and Microsoft scripting languages. The candidate must be possess a very positive attitude given it is in a high profile customer environment along with the ability to interact with other team members and customer staff. This environment provides the atmosphere for very forward thinking with cutting edge technologies. This position does require the candidate to work on-site in the customer*s location. Ability to obtain a public safety background clearance necessary. Skills / Job Qualifications: The candidate must possess 5 to 7 years of minimum experience in HP/UX, preferably a considerable amount of experience with HP/UX 11.x Operating System with HP/UX Service Guard cluster services. Additional required/desired: Microsoft Operating Systems & Clustered Services, Microsoft SMS, Microsoft Office Suite, with use of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, TCP/IP networking, shell scripting languages, LAN/WAN, wire and wireless networks, intelligent disk sub-systems, HP's OpenView SNP. Additional desired but not required other Unix operating system experience, Digital Unix, Compaq Tru-64, Linux., etc. The candidate must possess a desire and dynamic ability to learn other systems and components related to the customer's environment as needed.
