Litigation Support -Case ManagerALL SHIFTS (1st, 2nd, 3rd and Weekends)The individual will be a member of the Firm's Applied Technology Group, and have broad-ranging responsibilities relating to the Firm's Knowledge Management initiative, as well as the traditional litigation and practice support function.Requirements:A Bachelors degree and at least two years of Litigation Support experience working with law firms is preferred. Applicants should have broad, general computer knowledge and excellent problem solving and communication skills. Paralegal experience is a plus.Litigation Support Duties include:- Actively market services to attorneys and support staff;- Advise attorneys and support staff on effective application of technology to a variety of issues relating to the practice of law; - Conduct vendor screenings and manage requests for proposal for litigation support services according to firm standards;- Load and perform quality control checks on data and images received from outside vendors using in-house Concordance macro system;- Process files for electronic discovery using in-house Concordance macro system and Mobious HardCopyPro software;- Help identify unusual computer file types and explain them to non-technical users;- Process images for blowback/production using Opticon;- Burn and copy CD-ROMs and DVD-ROMs;- Perform complex data conversion;- Help create training materials and documentation;- Provide project-specific attorney and support staff training;- Provide Concordance/Opticon support to the firm's Helpline and users;- Work with Chicago office to pilot new technologies;Knowledge Management Duties Include:- Assist in the data mining and management functions associated with the knowledge management program;- Help implement sample document categorization in Hummingbird DM (f/k/a PCDOCS) document management system;Client Extranet Duties Include:- Assist in the design, development and deployment of client extranets and other client-facing technologies;- Assist with client extranet administration in Onward's Portfolio product;- Assist with iConect administration;- Provide iConect support to clients;Prefer experience with:- CaseLogistix- Concordance/Opticon- iConect- Hummingbird DM (PC Docs)- Microsoft Access- Microsoft Excel- ASCII data formats- Basic HTML- CD-ROM burning- Macro programming (including Concordance, Access, SQL, VBA, Word)- Mobious HardCopyPro or DiscoveryCracker- General knowledge of a wide variety of computer applications.EDUCATION: Minimum Bachelor's Degree Required.
