Program/Project Manager, Chicago , IL Will serve as an Enterprise Project Manager for 9 month plus contract. Duties include: Transition of the Web hosting provider Implementation of a single sign-on (SSO) solution, including the development and launch of a new member portal Implementation of a Website Content Management System (CMS), including the conversion from a static HTML Website Will work with technical leads; external vendor staff and business staff to plan, schedule, and execute the tasks required to meet the project objectives. This person is responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of complex and cross-functional project oriented work efforts. This large effort will require a seasoned PM who will work with multiple stakeholders in a Matrix environment. Will adhere to standard project management processes and methodologies. Will be responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Will also identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise. It is important this PM provide clear direction, coaching, and support to staff in order to manage the day-to-day activities of projects and staff in a highly-matrixed environment. To accomplish this, the PM will manage physical, financial and human capital resources, consider budget and cost implication as well as risk implications of project decisions. It will be important for this PM to put in place, use, and refine standard project management practices and tools necessary to manage projects during execution including risks, issues, and changes. Ensure that project requirements are documented and maintained, as needed, throughout this project. Will ensure that all project-related documents have been completed and archived; that deliverables are on schedule and within specification and budget for this project. This PM will also provide regular updates on the project management and project team and external vendors. The PM will need to identify project dependencies and escalate larger project issues and risks, as needed, for resolution through the appropriate channels. Participate in recurring status meetings with the project team and external vendors. The PM will serve as the prime meeting coordinator and work closely with the team to resolve project-related issues. Providing deliverables such as Project Charter, Project Plan(s), Quality Assurance Plan(s), Project Schedule(s), Resource Plan(s), Communication Plan(s), Test Plan(s), Implementation Plan(s) Requirements include: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent work experience in similar work environment. At least 7 years of IT work experience, including four or more years progressive responsibility managing multiple small-to-large complex projects in a cross-functional environment. Requires prior supervisory or team leader experience. Extensive knowledge in the use of Project Management methodologies and iterative development methodologies and tools (preferably RUP). Strong team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to develop and maintain key relationships to achieve business objectives is essential. Demonstrated ability to build consensus for business results. Demonstrated presentation skills. Understanding of human resources policies and practices as well as change management techniques. Familiarity with resource estimations methodologies, risk management, budget management and demand management.
