We have a client in Evanston that has a need for a Web Developer.

FUNCTION/PURPOSE
This moderately supervised position is responsible to participate in project teams under the leadership of Web Development Team Leader or assigned project leader. Under general supervision, develops or modifies moderately complex Web based information systems. Responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting complex software problems, and providing solutions to remedy those problems using current web technologies. Team member position with a combination of hands-on design, development and troubleshooting responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Formulate and define system design and objectives based on user requirements. Prepare technical specifications from which application programs will be developed.
* Independently troubleshoot and debug application software. Follow application development life cycle methodology for development and maintenance activities
* Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain application programs. Independently troubleshoot and debug application software.
* Develop sound technical solutions to meet user requirements that consider system capacity and limitations, performance requirements
* Analyze and troubleshoot production issues; develop and implement sound technical resolution.
* Integration of web applications with backend procedures, databases and application data structures.
* Proactively identify opportunities for application and system improvements. Routinely inform appropriate management of work status, issues and challenges
* Keep peers and management informed of potential changes that could impact daily operations, staffing plans, schedules or work deliverables.
* Consistently meet commitments to customers and team members. Consistently complete assigned work within the committed timeframe.
* Consistently deliver high quality work products with minimal errors or revisions.
* Manage own time through an awareness of project priorities, deadlines, and leadership expectations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor*s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* 2+ years of work experience in web application design, development, testing and performance engineering.
* Must have strong knowledge of developing, troubleshooting and supporting web sites and applications using a variety of web technologies
* Must be proficient in standard concepts, practices and procedures within the web development field
* Hands-on experience with HTML, Javascript, VB.Net, ASP.Net, VB Script, ASP, COM, IIS, OOP, SQL, C++ and PERL.
* Experience with RDBMS, preferably ORACLE/Unix

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with XML and Macromedia Flash a plus
* Microsoft .Net certification a plus
* Knowledge of 403(b), 401(k) pension record-keeping systems, and/or health and welfare benefits systems a plus.
