POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Monitoring Systems Administrator designs, implements, maintains, integrates and administers various tools and processes used to monitor the performance of Grant Thornton Information Technology systems, services and technology. In addition to monitoring performance, the Monitoring Systems Administrator will analyze monitoring data collected in order to prevent and mitigate IT outages and to forecast technology resources required for continuous IT department growth in the number of systems and services deployed to the firm. This position is based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Work with IT system and service owners to develop monitoring service levels.
-Document incident and problem escalation paths and procedures.
-Identify IT systems interrelationships and dependencies.
-Develop a coordinated communication plan designed to keep each IT division aware of issues and resolutions.
-Implement status and reporting capability to be shared among Technology Support, Operations, Applications Development and IT Senior Leadership.
-Work with IT Risk Management Security, Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity, and Database Administration groups to help the IT organization perform in a secure, efficient and high-quality manner.
-Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.
-Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.
-Perform other job-related duties as necessary. Experience: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Experience with network, hardware, software applications, internet, database and security monitoring tools.
-A solid foundation in IT Operations.
-Experience deploying and supporting software applications.
-MSCE and other certifications a plus.
-Systems programming or scripting skills.
-Process and workflow development skills.
-HP Openview or similar enterprise systems monitoring.
-Reports Directly to Director, IT Risk Management
