Production Services Manager in Chicago, IL
The Production Services Manager Problem Manager is required to manage the infrastructure group at all layers of technology. This will require the manager to have a broad understanding of trading applications, networks and network operating systems such as Windows, Unix and System I. They will also provide support to the business by addressing all technical, production related issues utilizing a long-term solution approach. Profile Requirements: Strong organization and communication skills; must clearly communicate production related, technical issues and resolutions to customer/clients, other departments and senior management In depth understanding of Operating Systems, Trading/Market Applications and data flow dependencies between applications across regions Must be able to establish effective professional business relationships with all levels of management 5+ years of information technology experience supporting enterprise class environments Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and drive completion of deliverables Establish and maintain an environment conducive to team building and cross departmental communications Must be able to govern regional IT initiatives to ensure that all process and procedures are executed following company policies and standards Must possess senior level writing and documentation skills Bachelors degree Must fully understand proper technology services following ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) methodologies Provide technical direction and leadership and act as an escalation point for any/all technical production related issues Ability to translate business requirements and needs to valuable technological initiatives Identify and provide long-term problem resolution for infrastructure inefficiencies and allow for the prevention of reoccurring issues focusing on end-to-end solutions Must be accustomed to responding quickly and in a controlled manner to emergencies Skilled in troubleshooting issues in high pressure, business critical production environments Previous trading experience preferred or equivalent high speed, high-pressure environments in financial sector Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for the coordination and resource allocation for all infrastructure related projects Responsible for notifying and coordinating projects directly affecting business users Enforce strict Change Management policies regarding productions changes Must be a consistent participant in weekly Change Control/Management (CM) meetings Assist in directing all operational and administrative activities of the infrastructure group Attend training and meetings as required to learn ITIL service practices Act as a change catalyst to ensure ITIL methodologies are not only fully understood and learned throughout the organization, but are also executed and enforced Responsible to assist in creating and enforcing technology standards for all production related systems Responsible to create and sustain consistency in regards to production IT services. This includes remaining synchronized with other regions whenever possible Create and validate monthly Problem Management reports regarding the current and future state of all business critical IT systems within the region, ensuring compliance with global policies Responsible for monitoring and alerting of all business critical technical systems Responsible for notifying and escalating to senior IT management regarding all production problems Is required to follow proper quality assurance procedures regarding releasing any and all technical changes into production Assist in managing vendor and outsourcing relationships Champions and owns the Problem Management function within the ITS Group Manages all Problem Management initiatives and directives within the ITS organization in an efficient manner Develops and maintains the Problem Management process in conjunction with the Global Problem Management proc Experience: Specific Skill Sets Business critical services management Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to ensure tasks are followed up on until they are fully completed and documented (where applicable) Discipline regarding communications and policy enforcement Strong team building Excellent problem solving Senior level written and oral communication skills Ability to understand the big picture to provide long-term resolutions In depth understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Solaris Unix and Red Hat Linux operating systems, including how they interact and utilize hardware platforms In depth understanding and knowledge of multi-tiered applications and systems In depth understanding and knowledge of middleware solutions and infrastructures, including but not limited to UL-Link, Tibco, and IBM / Microsoft MQ In depth understanding and knowledge of TCP/IP and networking technologies Event, system and error log monitoring, interpretation and operational understanding To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
