Guidewire Developer in Chicago, IL

Overview:
The Guidewire/Java Developer will be responsible for an implementation & integration with Guidewire (Java Based Insurance Suite encompasses the mission-critical operations of every personal or commercial lines carrier: underwriting and policy administration, claims, and billing). The Developer will also be responsible for product development and implementation, design, maintained and documentation of software components and participate in daily meetings.
Guidewire applications are highly configurable. Guidewire/Java Consultants are required to gain a thorough understanding of the objectives and requirements of the client.
Qualifications:
- 5 years IT development experience with Java and J2EE
- Demonstrated ability to design, code, test, and deploy complicated integration software.
- Hands on experience in designing and writing code in Java.
- 3 plus years coding in object oriented software
- Experience with an RDBMS, Oracle, SQL Server and DB2,
- Hands on experience writing SQL queries.
- Thorough understanding of relational concepts.
- Experience designing tables for application integration.
- Basic understanding of XML.
- Experience designing applications using "N" Tier Architecture.
- Experience using Programming IDEs like Eclipse, IntelliJ, Borland, etc.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Previous implementation experience in at least two full life-cycle implementations.
- Experience developing technical specifications and then implementing those specifications through a combination of custom programming and product configuration.
- Experience communicating with both the development and integration teams of an enterprise-wide systems integration effort.
- Ability to work with core engineers to review technical designs and participate in code reviews.
