a Senior Server Engineer.

Job Description:

Senior Server Engineer Position Description:

Provide consulting, design and development services of Infrastructure solutions utilizing Linux, Citrix, IBM, and HP infrastructure.

Position Responsibilities:

. Provide consulting services on the topics of Infrastructure which includes, Microsoft server solutions, Linux, Citrix , IBM, HP and Cisco infrastructure.
. Lead Infrastructure initiatives and help provide leadership and support to the IT support areas to resolve operational issues.
. Participate in IT directional planning for the use of Infrastructure solutions.
. Assist the IT Department in the development of standards, policies as well as production and project support.
. Facilitate the planning, design and maintenance process for IT Infrastructure solutions that includes Microsoft , Citrix, Linux and HP and IBM blade servers and Storage solutions.
. Foster and maintain good business relationships within the IT organization and the Electro-motive organization
. Collaborate with internal and external customers to achieve defined goals.
. Coordinate inter-departmental activities with other areas as required for projects.
. Work with the PMO and Vendor and the IT Support to define the architecture and standards for proposed projects.
. Help create and foster the "team" environment.
. Technical Lead in projects
. May be required to:
. Travel if required by project, task, assignment, or educational enhancement
. Report to work during non-scheduled hours
. Work overtime as necessary
. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

. Bachelors Degree in Business or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
. Minimum 8 years of experience in business systems development in a client server environment
. Minimum of 5 years Infrastructure development and technologies
. Minimum of 3 years of consulting experience
. Strong verbal and written communications skills
. Strong project management skills
. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels
. Knowledge in developing strategic plans

Keys:

Recent hands on server engineering experience. Need to have the ability to build servers, install and configure.
Strong experience on the technical side of things with design and architecture
Strong problem determination/resolution and configure correctly
Experience with utilizing and adhering to best practice standards and methodologies
Broad base of hands on experience as a Server Engineer
Current environment is Unix/Linux going to IBM Servers blade servers so this is a +, Unix and Linux are a must
