Senior Developer - Microsoft Information Worker in Chicago, IL
This position requires a minimum of 2 years recent experience leading the design, architecture, implementation of Sharepoint, IW, or related areas either as a consultant or performing same in a large company environment. The successful candidate in this position will:Participate in complete software development lifecycle, including analysis. Design, code and unit test, for Information Worker applications based on Microsoft technologies, especially .NET, web services and SQL Assist firm's clients with business requirements for their SharePoint and Office System based solutions. Assist with the Information Architecture (taxonomy) appropriate to each particular client and take the design all the way through the solution Life-Cycle Build applications using Internet and Windows Development tools. Manage, develop, integrate and implement related applications components, including front-end development, server-side development and database integration Develop web pages and applications for customers Provide technical consultation in new systems development, new package evaluations, and enhancement of existing systems; participate in structured walkthrough and technical reviews Prepare functional specifications from which programs will be written; design, code, test, debug, and document programs Build relationships with customers to determine business requirements that will drive web site planning Prepare design documents and technical papers explaining and motivating the approaches to be taken in the architectures of systems Translate business strategies into technical visions and strategies Deliver high-quality solutions to our customers to ensure their investment in technology is consistent with their business objectives. Deliver project oversight responsibilities Contribute to firm's intellectual capital such as white papers and presentations on area of expertise Clearly communicate problem/resolution process to customers or management Contribute to product development, written proposals and develop technical documentation Conduct workshops, seminars and public presentations Qualifications:Five to seven years direct experience with Web application development Previous consulting experience preferred Current Microsoft Certified Solutions Engineer (MCSD) preferred and MCPD pursuit and certification is required Four-year degree in business or computer-related field or equivalent experience Solid understanding of the Microsoft IW principles including supporting technologies such as the Office System, Smart Tags, Information Bridge, InfoPath, SharePoint Portal Server, BizTalk, and web services Broad awareness of basic Internet, intranet, and WWW technologies, including: Inter/intra/extranet tools; Web installation, configuration and performance management; Web navigation, content, linking, and browser tuning; Web security and encryption Experience with .NET servers and tools required Web site design and development experience in a Microsoft environment Working knowledge and skills in ASP.Net, C#.Net, VBScript, and XML Working knowledge of SQL Server 2000 with database/Web connectivity familiarity, plus database management and file access methods Proven project oversight responsibilities and mentoring of consultant; preferred A professional, business-focused attitude and courteous manner towards clients, partners and peers Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs. This position may require the ability to travel average of 25% - 40% Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills including demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective. Targeted earnings for first year at $150K plus.
