STORAGE ARCHITECT- TSM/SAN/DISK



Project Description & Tasks



Storage Architect with both TSM Backup/ Restore skills and SAN/DISK skills. Must be able to design Storage solutions based on customer requirements. These solutions will include all aspects of Storage infrastructure. The SAN Storage / Backup and Recovery Architect is responsible for the Strategy, Architecture, Solutioning of new Requirements, and Oversight of the ongoing support and maintenance of the SAN Storage, Backup and Recovery, and DR environments, in all US locations supported by the client.



Responsibilities



. Generate solutions for customer and internal projects mostly in the area of SAN Storage, backup and recovery, and DR. (but could occasionally include other areas).

. Coordination with Server Architects on Architecture, System Strategy and Capacity Management activities, to provide storage capabilities to UNIX systems.

. Provides guidance on TSM implementation, maintenance and support activities.

. Initial documentation of Backup and Recovery requirements and configuration changes.

. Initial documentation of SAN Storage requirements and configuration changes.

. Coordinates with Enterprise level architecture groups and confirms to Global Architecture Guidance.



Skills



- TSM experience.

- General experience with SAN design.

- IBM DS Series storage experience.

- Experience designing solutions for projects mostly focused around SAN Storage, TSM, tape libraries, and disaster recovery.

- Experience designing solutions for SAN and Storage projects.

- Experience creating Visio diagrams.

- Excellent communications skills.
