Roles and Responsibilities: Additional B&D engineers are required to support the additional work required in 2009. In addition to the current workload of PNET3, PNETG, Legacy and Internal Application deployments we will adding PNET4 deployments. Our plan is to cross train on the older technologies and allow our FTEs to support PNET4. Release Comments: Windows Deployment Engineer As a Deployment Engineer,you will be responsible for managing and executing the day-to-day application deployment activities for Commercial Card IT. You will work closely with Development and Release Management to solve complex build/deployment process throughout all phases of the software development life cycle. Responsibilities: . Implement application builds on Windows/HP platforms . Deploy ASP web application to an array of servers (UI, Database, Application, etc) . Ensure all changes fall within application maintenance windows . Identify processes in need of automation or scripting . Build and maintain automatic build and deploy scripts . Research and Implement complex design and analysis of automated build systems . Rational Clearcase and Clearquest level one support for build troubleshooting and end user assistance . Work with application infrastructure architects to establish the physical environments to effectively perform the software builds and deployments with an emphasis on quality, integrity, and security. Qualifications: . Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience or specialized training) in Information Technology (IT) or related discipline . Minimum of 3 years relevant software build and deployment work experience . Proficiency in Deployment related scripting language on Windows (NANT preferred) . Knowledge of Nant scripting language . Knowledge of version control and configuration management processes . Knowledge of VBScript and batch languages . Understanding of Windows server administration (services, networking, IIS, clusters, pools, logging, security, file/folder permissions, etc.) . Experience in using Rational ClearCase/ClearQuest required . Excellent troubleshooting skills required . Familiarity with CruiseControl.net . Effective communication skills, both oral and written a must . Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment .
