Product Manager Broadband, Ethernet (IL) - in Chicago, IL
$100K Key skills: Strong understanding of Ethernet, Legacy and new voice and data technologies. Ability to create forecasts, financial models and budgets. Description: Manage the entire lifecycle for new and existing Broadband services for medium to large Enterprise customers. Be responsible for growing product portfolio through organic growth as well as the development of new lines of businesses and new channels of distribution. You must have a strong understanding of Voice and Data services with a focus on Ethernet/Broadband services plus a passion to market those technologies in compelling, technically oriented ways. Research and prioritize customer needs, develop product requirements documents, develop the product plan/business case including pricing strategy, provide project management leadership and lead cross-functional teams to deliver products to market in a timely and flawless manner. These initiatives require a fundamental knowledge of Broadband technologies, technical product introductions, vertical market segmentation, business case development and the creation and implementation of high-impact Marketing strategies. Responsibilities: -Develop thorough product plans and business cases for new Ethernet and Broadband services that will position company as a premier Technology Solutions provider. -Manage all lifecycle migration strategies and sunset Legacy technologies, as appropriate. -Identify product features and functionality related to customer requirements; fully document requirements including customer experience. -Lead cross-functional teams to develop, test and launch new products. -Perform product analyses and understand interoperability of current offerings. -Collaborate with other Product Managers to optimize overall revenue and margin. -Identify opportunities within vertical markets to differentiate offerings and strongly position company within certain segments. -Develop and implement Go-to-market strategies that will ensure forecasted product revenues and margins are achieved. -Provide input into Sales Training materials to ensure successful sales presentations. -Provide thought leadership related to Best Practices on how to market technologies to CIO, CTO levels. -Identify potential new business models including new channel strategies, flanker brands, wholesale/resale opportunities, etc. -When appropriate, meet with vendors, negotiate preliminary programs and incorporate into business cases. -Identify and measure key performance metrics (ARPU, conversion rates, etc.). Qualifications: -In-depth understanding of Ethernet, as well as Legacy and new Voice and Data technologies. -Strong understanding and experience with Ethernet technology. -Demonstrated ability to drive the product lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch evaluation (through Introduction stage). -Strong grasp of design and user experience. -Outstanding documentation and project management skills. -Strong analytical skills. -Ability to flourish in a highly matrixed, cross-functional environment. -Ability to marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done. -Strong team player who always puts the needs of the business first. -Highly organized and able to work on multiple projects, quickly and efficiently while maintaining the highest quality. -Excellent written and verbal skills. -5 years of Telecommunications and/or Broadband (fiber, cable, DSL, Ethernet) experience. -Track record with marketing or product management of Ethernet and/or Broadband services. -Bachelors degree in Engineering, IT/Computer Sciences or Business, MBA a plus. -Experience in Marketing, Product Management or Product Development departments. Other: -In-depth knowledge of specific vertical telecommunications requirements, eg Healthcare, Financial services. -Understanding of regulatory issues related to verticals, eg SOX, HIPPA, and PCI.
