Our direct end client in the Chicago area is looking for a Inventory Planner consultant for a 6+ month project. If you are interested in this position, please forward your resume to:

Major Responsibility: Utilizing ERP and Demand Solutions Software, plan and purchase $5M-$10M of inventory for material requirements of parts sales, OE components, and reman production for specified business unit. Responsible for managing fill and turn rates to the company set goals.

Essential Tasks:
1. Set up new part number pricing and update part item master information in ERP.
2. Reconcile open purchase orders and back orders with the factory and follow up on defective material issues
3. Schedule shop production as required and/or expedite orders.
4. Work with the factory and/or other support personnel to solve part number description errors or problems. Utilize factory Wesson system; obtain part number information, pricing and availability
5. Responsible for accurate item master set up and maintenance of bills of material; update ABC/XYZ parts in system.
6. Select appropriate freight transportation method to meet cost effectiveness and time requirements.
7. Determine/maintain safety stock levels when appropriate and analyze and recommend handling of obsolete inventory, factory returns, and scrap.
8. Work with Distribution Center and Accounting Team to resolve overage/shortage issues.
9. Provide reports for meetings as requested and contribute to annual budget planning process.
10. Act as backup to other Inventory Planners as needed (i.e. vacation, sick special projects).
11. Perform related tasks and assignments as required.


Organizational Relationships: Reports to Supply Chain Manager. Has no direct reports. Works closely with Distribution Center, Sales, Shop Scheduler or Team Leader, Accounting, and German parent factory.

Educational Requirements: Associates Degree or minimum 5 years previous ZF planning experience required. Bachelor's Degree and APICS certification preferred.

Experience Requirements: Strong skills in ERP, MRP (DS preferred) Wesson, and Microsoft Office Suite required. Previous 2-3 years inventory planning in a technical product. Strong analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
