Business Analyst

Minimum education required:
? BS/BA in Information Systems, Business or related field.

Minimum work experience required:
? 4+ years of experience performing business analysis tasks, demonstrating progressively greater responsibilities and independence.
? Significant experience with the process of identifying business requirements for existing or proposed systems and translating these to technical specifications.
? Experience designing graphical user interfaces (GUI) and reports.
? In-depth working knowledge of systems development life cycle and systems development methodologies.
? Broad knowledge of cost-benefit analysis and business case development.
? Broad knowledge of business processes and process mapping.
? Broad knowledge of data modeling techniques and relational databases.
? Experience developing and executing test plans.
? Experience working in a PMO / formal project management environment.

Experience with the following a strong plus:
? Insurance/brokerage industry
? Construction industry project and risk management
? Document management systems (e.g., FileNet)
? Oracle databases
? Business Objects (Crystal Reports)
? Rational Analyst Suite (Requisite Pro, ClearQuest, Robot)
? Experience working with off-shore software development teams.

? Ability to rapidly absorb and implement new technologies and procedures, and be able to stay abreast of new technologies
? Capable of performing tasks in dynamic/changing situations

Description of duties & responsibilities:
1) Responsible for partnering with business/user group representatives to understand business processes and underlying informational and/or process automation needs, then translating those needs into formal, documented business requirements.
2) Responsible for support of developed applications through the combination of analysis, quality assurance, post-implementation product support skills.
3) Required to develop estimates and participate in project planning tasks.
4) Responsible for identifying and tracking issues and risks related to project or system.
5) Act as the liaison between business/user group representatives and system development personnel for both development efforts production system support efforts.
6) Develop and conduct QA acceptance testing, including formulation of overall plans and test criteria
7) Responsible for 2nd tier support for assigned applications, acting as liaison with Help Desk personnel and developers.
8) May define curriculum, design material, and train end users on new applications, or demo existing applications to new users.
9) May be responsible for fulfilling select project management/governance responsibilities.
10) Facilitate and coordinate the Release Process
? Create and maintain all release documentation including user guides and release notes
? Transfer knowledge to Help Desk
