POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Lawson Developer develops, maintains, supports, and provides training on Lawson applications and interfaces. The Senior Lawson Developer owns all data flow points in and out of the Lawson system, and provides enhancements to the Lawson system as identified by the business in coordination with the IT Relationship Manager(s) and the Manager of Application Development. This person is a member of the Application Development and Management division in the Information Technology ( IT ) department. This position is based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Lead and manage all Lawson system enhancements, following established development and change management processes.
-Develop Lawson system interfaces and enhancements as required by the business.
-Provide system functional expertise as required.
-Maintain production and development Lawson environments in conjunction with engineering and DBA personnel.
-Test and perform complete quality assurance evaluation on all system integrations and enhancements.
-Provide training and support on all Lawson applications and system enhancements as identified by firm and IT management.
-Provide mentoring and technical guidance to members of the Application Development team as it pertains to the Lawson system and applications.
-Complete documentation of all technologies and tools used with respect to the Lawson system, including all projects.
-Create Lawson-centric data integration and application enhancements using organized systems development methodology.
-Provide programming team technical leadership and technical direction as it pertains to the Lawson system.
-Develop and interact with Lawson databases including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
-Test fully and review QA of all interfaces and applications developed or customized prior to release to production.
-Report exception issues, problems and customer needs as they occur to IT management and appropriate Relationship Manager(s).
-Respond proactively to identified training, technical support, and customer service needs in line with IT management and business guidelines.
-Coordinate identified user technical needs with others in the Application Development group and throughout the IT department.
-Communicate and coordinate user needs with IT management effectively.
-Participate in and occasionally lead special projects for FWI IT as assigned by IT management.
-Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.
-Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.
-Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
-4+ years experience in medium to large size corporate environment with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity of projects and applications. Previous experience in the Professional Services or Accounting industry a plus.
-3+ years recent experience with COBOL.
-4+ years recent experience with Lawson coding. Previous experience with Lawson Process Flow and eProcurement a plus.
-Previous project management, client service, or consultative experience in technology a plus.

-Thorough understanding of systems development methodology best practices
-Functional knowledge of Lawson HR and payroll
-Experience with creating and interacting with SQL database systems.
-Ability to integrate procedural steps and processes with technical requirements and system functions to assure successful delivery of work.
-Project management skills including planning, WBS, requirements gathering, and project team coordination.
-Strong training and presentation skills in individual and group settings.
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
-Strong attention to detail.
-Team oriented, flexible and able to work in an ambiguous and/or changing work environment.
-100% in-office work arrangement required; pager required. Occasional work in the Chicago location a possibility. Some overtime required ( evenings or weekends ).
-Reports directly to Manager of Application Development
-Ability to work additional hours as needed.
