POSITION OVERVIEW: Currently, we have an excellent career opportunity for a Director, IT Global Services with Combined Insurance Company of America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aon Corporation located in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Direct the operations of Aon Insurance Underwriting companies Global Messaging, WAN, Security, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans. Develop, enhance and publish security information, security strategy, policy, governance processes and best practices and guidelines. Monitor compliance with security standards to ensure systems controls are successful at providing adequate security to data, hardware, software and applications. Design and administer programs to include policies, standards, guidelines, training programs and viable quality assurance process for disaster recovery and business continuity programs. Direct administration and coordination of global messaging systems. Plans, develops, documents, and implement enhancements to messaging network. Provide support and consultation to remote locations or clients in order to identify requirements and configuration resources. Maintain regular checks on the global messing systems and resolve or escalate problems as required. Direct global WAN activities, primarily for Strategic planning and design of data, video and image telecommunications systems globally. Audit systems (globally) to ensure messaging standards are being maintained and systems are secure. Ensure long-term strategic planning requirements include planning for remote hardware and communications facilities; development and installation and support. Create reports for management measuring availability, capacity, and other statistics to insure maximum processing capabilities due to growth, etc. In performance of position, employs extremely strong managerial skills, analytical abilities and excellent interpersonal skills. Communicate and coordinate with upper management within various business units that process at Aon's Insurance Underwriting Data Center the technology that's needed to support their production environments. Investigate and evaluate ideas to reduce expenses in the business units and in the global environment.

REQUIRED education: BA/BS or equivalent. Security, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Messaging and WAN experience.
