POSITION SUMMARY
The Enterprise Content Management ( ECM ) Manager is responsible for the ongoing vision, design and implementation of the firm's ECM technology architecture. The manager helps define and realize the firm's ECM strategy through regular interaction with senior leadership throughout IT and the business. This individual manages a growing team of technical architects, engineers and analysts. In addition, the manager is a key member of the firm's cross-functional ECM program management team and provides vision and leadership in support of its long-term ECM strategy. This position is based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Build and execute an ECM vision and architecture.
-Define initial and ongoing ECM architecture.
-Build a blueprint for technical ECM infrastructure ( both hardware and software ) based on firm's stated business requirements.
-Define ECM services offerings and service level agreements to optimally achieve business objectives.
-Develop and execute an ECM mission aligned with the firm's IT vision.
-Research, build and maintain ECM best practices and benchmarks and align firm's ECM strategy accordingly.
-Identify and build ECM training strategy and execution.
-Manage key vendor relationships.
-Ensure proper integration and alignment with other IT functions, process and technology.
-Manage the ECM team.
-Develop resource vision and need for group and augment staff accordingly.
-Manage a group of business analysts, technical architects, engineers and support personnel.
-Coordinate and execute yearly review process.
-Lead ECM team in development and enhancements of each solution and service offering.
-Provide mentoring and technical guidance to ECM and business analysis staff.
-Coordinate project and resource scheduling.
-Report project status to IT Leadership via work plan updates and status meetings.
-Manage ECM budget.
-Participate with other Applications Development and Management ( ADM ) managers in developing a world class IT organization.
-Act as the ECM liaison to business clients.
-Work with business and technical staff to understand needs and document business requirements and transfer those needs into technical specifications.
-Work with business to develop and manage key ECM processes and management structures.
-Develop and maintain ECM service level agreements.
-Identify and coordinate all firm communications requirements and plans.
-Ensure minimal disruption to existing or future business process through effective change management strategies.
-Provide technical leadership and direction to ECM staff.
-Develop conceptual design, scope of work, and technical specification documents for ECM initiatives.
-Apply appropriate development methodologies and draw on direct business experience to analyze business problems and outline potential solution options and recommendations.
-Maintain ownership of ECM development efforts, including architecture design, taxonomy development and implementation, product and vendor selection, solution development and deployment, and ongoing services and maintenance.
-Work with application vendors to provide solutions to ECM application issues.
-Coordinate and execute ECM activities including functional requirements definitions.
-Remain knowledgeable and up to date of current ECM industry trends and technologies, and participate in appropriate industry leadership events and forums.
-Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.
-Perform other job-related duties as necessary. Experience: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems. MBA preferred.
-10-15 years in overall IT or related experience.
-8+ years in IT technology management.
-5-8 years in overall ECM experience.
-3+ years in an ECM management position in the areas of people, process, technology and project management.
-2 years direct experience with Microsoft SharePoint preferred.
-Project management experience or exposure to multiple development methodologies.
-ECM implementation experience from heterogeneous applications across a large scale.
-Experience with one or more specific ECM platforms ( e.g., Documentum, Interwoven, Open Text, FileNet, etc. )
-Working knowledge of Microsoft platform and products including .NET, SQL Server, SharePoint, Visual Basic, Visual C++ or C#, with a minimum of 4 years recent development experience.
-Experience evaluating, piloting, selecting, deploying and supporting diverse ECM vendor technologies including records management, document management, collaboration, work flow, imaging, etc.
-Experience successfully dealing with ECM change management issues in a mid-large size organization, preferably in a professional services firm.
-Knowledge of information design concepts and taxonomy development.
-Must be experienced in all areas of cradle to grave content management lifecycles.
-Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
-Must be able to deliver in an environment of competing priorities and changing project scope.
-Proven effectiveness as a creative problem solver; ability to challenge conventional approaches and 'think outside the box'.
-Experience in assessing business needs and selecting the right analytic approach for the problem at hand.
-Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.

-Proven ability to effectively multitask with strong attention to detail.

-Experience with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet technologies.
-Ability to think big picture and tie it to day-to-day work.
-Reports Directly to: Director of Applications Development and Management.
