The Professional Services Division at Blackbaud has recently introduced the New Initiatives Practice which is focused on building our services and branding new products and offerings. There are four key sub-practice areas within the New Initiatives Practice: Internet Services, , Direct Marketing, Business Intelligence, and our Cultural vertical.



Our New Initiatives Practice is a hybridization of software development and consulting services focused on mounting a greater understanding of what non-profits can do to improve their performance. Our creative consultants, talented management, and innovative software products provide our clients the problem-solving skills necessary to identify and execute solutions to the challenges facing their organizations.



The New Initiatives team has an immediate need for a Business Process Improvement Consultant.

Description:


The Business Process Improvement Consultant will participate, as the lead, in defining and executing process improvement projects for some of the largest non-profit organizations. This position will require expertise in facilitation, data collection and analysis, process design, documentation, and measurement. The business process improvement consultant will be a key member of our enterprise business transformation consulting team.


Under minimal direction, you will be responsible for working with the project team to deliver the project, tracking results and other metrics defined by you, and reporting progress to the executive sponsors.




Responsibilities:

  • Strong knowledge of one or more process improvement methodologies (e.g. Hammer & Champy’s BPR, Lean, Six Sigma, etc)

  • Comfortable creating quantitative models of business operations

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Flexibility in adapting industry methodologies and principles and techniques to fit client appetite and needs

  • Familiar with the fundamental aspects necessary to enable the transition to a new business process

  • Experience:
  • Experience in articulating the value using lean and six sigma for services organizations

  • Experience in facilitating process design workshops

  • 3+ business process improvement for services projects from start to finish

  • 5+ years of experience in delivering business process improvement projects

  • 2+ years of consulting experience - consulting experience with enterprise consulting firm such as Big 5, Accenture, IBM, etc. a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree required - degree in public administration or non-profit management a plus
