Job Summary:
The Director, SOA Strategy is part of Sapient's Business & IT Strategy Center of Excellence (COE) and has high-level responsibility to help Sapient build its capability to sell and deliver SOA Strategy and Governance services. As part of the COE, this individual spends 60% of their time on client engagements and sales pursuits providing leadership and mentoring to teams, and 40% of their time building Sapient's overall Business & IT Strategy capability through thought leadership, sales collateral, and reusable toolkits. Also, as part of the COE, this individual should be familiar with other Business & IT Strategy disciplines, including Enterprise Architecture Planning, Application Portfolio Planning, Project Portfolio Planning and IT Governance Planning.

The Director will also leverage the broader comm unity within their metro area to actively shape the way Technology practitioners understand, represent and execute their work. In performing the essential functions of this role, the work environment is fast-paced, moderately noisy and team-based. Additionally, frequent overnight travel is required.

. Subject matter expert on SOA strategy and governance
o Has deep experience planning and implementing SOA solutions
o Is passionate about the business & technical value of SOA
o Is familiar with the SOA vendor landscape
. Advise C-level clients on IT strategy, specifically around how SOA should be implemented across the enterprise
. Help clients measure the business & technical value of SOA
. Lead IT Strategy engagements
o Translates business vision to IT Strategy and Architecture
o Establishes strategic planning processes and educates clients
o Facilitates workshops
o Mentors less experienced team members
. Ref ine Sapient's SOA strategy service and approach
o Defines reusable toolkits
o Creates sales collateral
o Educates Sapient teams
. Creates thought leadership positions on SOA topics
. Participates in Sales pursuits
o Work with client to understand business needs
o Define project approach & timeline
o Identify appropriate deliverables

Experience: Experience:
Guidelines

. Bachelor's degree required, degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Certification within their area of specialization is required.
. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, package implementation, and/or interactive design, and Architecture experience; Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively client accounts and multi-track Sapient teams.
. Proven mentoring and coaching abilities to ensure effective growth plans of technology members of Sapient teams
. Ability to understand critical issues and bring appropriate resolution to cross-industry, complex issues
. Ability to drive complex estimates that take one or more projects into account and to effectively communicate risks and dependencies to client
. Experience in: Integration and development, Package implementation, Interactive Design
. Knowledge of multiple technologi es including (but not limited to): J2EE, CGI, HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, Java, Visual Basic, PL/SQL, Oracle Developer 2000 tools, C/C++, Perl, TCL, RDBMS, CORBA, COM/DCOM, Flash, and Shockwave.
