DUTIES: You will be responsible for: (1) Analyzing and understanding the structure of financial data used in analyzing stocks to include earnings data, price data, cash flow data, balance sheet data, income statement data, financial ratio data, SEC filing forms and data; etc.; (2) Creating database tables for tracking this data and making it available for reporting applications; (3) Database design including normalization of data, index design, sizing of database needs, as well as an understanding of the structure and relationships among the data elements to provide a balance of response time and resource efficiency; (4) Working with a diverse audience across multiple groups and audiences and providing excellent analysis and solutions to problems that arise.
Experience: MUST MUST MUST HAVE AN EXCELLENT DEPTH AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE FINANCIAL INVESTMENT INDUSTRY to include analyzing stock earnings data, price data, cash flow data, balance sheet data, income statement data, financial ratio data, SEC filing forms data, etc.MUST HAVE VERY STRONG (ideally 5 years or more) database design with a very strong background in:Creating database tables and making it available for reporting applications.Database design including normalization of data, index design, sizing of database needs, as well as an understanding of the structure and relationships among the data elements to provide a balance of response time and resource efficiency.MUST be SMART, highly analytical, and able to find solutions to problems you encounter, and enjoy doing so.MUST be a self starter who enjoys working in a GROWING firm and industry that is FAST PACED, HIGH ENERGY, and COMPETITIVE.MUST be able to wear either hat needed (team mate, or lead role) while remaining hands on, depending on what hat the team needs you to wear.Pluses: Oracle RDBMS is highly preferred.
