SAP SD Analyst in Chicago, IL
DUTIES: You will be responsible for: (1) Designing, configuring, and production support of the SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) and Shipping module and integration with other SAP modules and third-party applications; (2) Supporting all phases of the project life cycle including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, support and optimization of solutions, documentation, and end-user training; (3) Leading and managing small to medium sized projects when applicable; (4) Providing subject matter expertise (SME), including gathering business requirements, analyzing needs against system functionality, designing and configuring system(s), writing technical specifications for FIREC objects (forms, interfaces, reports, enhancements, and conversions), testing, developing procedures and training materials, delivering end user training, and coordinating and supporting go-live(s); (5) Collaborating with business groups in identifying and executing automation initiatives and assuming a role in standardization and automation of reporting solutions from all relevant systems including obtaining a comprehensive understanding of all the complexities and integration of existing OLTP and OLAP environments, gathering business requirements, performing gap analyses, and designing and deploying "best practice" based solutions; (6) Identifying KPI-based metrics for various business functions and designing and assisting in the deployment of dashboards for the metrics; (7) Identifying and recommending new tools and procedures that will lead to improved performance; (8) Acting as the first line of support for end user configuration and enhancement requests; (9) When assuming a leadership role, creating/updating project plan, tasks, milestones, etc. using Microsoft Project Server tool; (10) Analyzing and correcting process and configuration problems as they occur in production systems; (11) Performing and leading unit testing and integration testing; (12) Conducting presentations to end user groups, clients, third party organizations, and business partners; (13) Designing enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements, interfaces, functions, and features.
Experience: STRONG/CURRENT responsibility for SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) and Shipping as an Analyst with a minimum of 2 full lifecycle implementations in the SD area and 1 full lifecycle implementation in the Shipping area, including release upgrades and new system or module configuration.At least one project with lead experience (i.e. team lead, or project lead, or project management).MUST come from a manufacturing industry with good working knowledge in any one of these SAP R/3 modules (Materials Management, Production Planning, Finance/Controlling).Must have excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.Coordinates a variety of tests (unit, string, integration, security, and performance) and participates in the change management process.Knowledge of appropriate change control procedures for moving new configurations or maintenance programs through the landscape.Willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed.Personality traits required: Works independently or within team under general supervision and able to influence decisions in IT based on technical expertise and guidance provided. Self motivated. Enjoys coaching and mentoring less experienced staff. Forward and out of the box thinking. Strong relationship building skills across technical and business teams.Pluses: Integration experience with SAP modules and SAP BW; SAP MM (Materials Management), SAP PP (Production Planning), SAP FI/CO (Finance/Controlling), SAP BW. ABAP programming. Spanish language literacy. Workflow design and implementation. Vendor relationship management. Experience in any of the SAP R/3 modules (Materials Management, Production Planning, Finance/Controlling) and SAP BW.
