Our large insurance client is seeking an Infrastructure Architect. The main responsibility for the contractor will be to develop an infrastructure strategy with the C-level employees. Developing the strategic road maps, methodologies, system performance, manage, design and implement the entire infrastructure. This will include WAN, network equipment, data center, helpdesk , backup and recovery services and all other IT infrastructure needs. The candidate will be responsible for the setup and management for all aspects of the infrastructure throughout the various lines of business. The contractor will need to be an expert in hardware, software, data center consolidation and vendor management. Planning, managing, gathering financial data, establishing cost baselines, and tracking costs are additional tasks that will be required of the candidate. <br/><br/>All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States. Experience: The ideal candidate must have done projects where the focus was on "big iron" IT hardware and software, data center consolidation, vendor management, etc. The ideal Architect must have exceptional grasp of infrastructure technologies. He/she must have at least 10 years of leadership experience in running organizations for key infrastructure components such as mainframes, network, and storage. The ideal Infrastructure Architecture must bring in vast experience, in building and running shared services for infrastructure. He/she must have exceptional strong leadership skills and a demonstrated track record of leading large operations; experience building shared service organizations and off-shoring of IT services; experience of initiating, leading the development and implementation of high profile projects and change programs. The ideal Architect must have a Degree in computer science or engineering; Advance Technical or Business Degree is also preferred; Professional Certification like ITIL Certification is a plus; Degree / equivalent, preferably MBA or similar broad-based qualification is a must.
