NO 3RD PARTIES, C2C, etc.-- PAID RELOCATION IS NOT OFFERED WITH THIS OPPORTUNITYOur Client currently seeks a BUSINESS OBJECTS ADMINISTRATOR (not a DEVELOPER) fora CONTRACT-TO-HIRE opportunity.SUMMARY:The Business Objects Administrator (not a DEVELOPER) will be responsible for day to day administration of multiple Business Objects environments. They will also provide support to Client's business by addressing all escalated technical production related issues in an efficient manner. RESPONSIBILITIES:Creating additional Users and groups in multiple Business Objects environments Assigning Rights in multiple Business Objects environments Migrating Content between multiple Business Objects environments Responsible for server settings within Business Objects Installation of Client Tools Follow strict Change Management policies regarding productions changes (ITIL) Must take part in Change Management (CM) meetings as necessary. Follow proper Incident Management and Problem Management policies and assist in the creation and closure of incidents, including incident reporting. When assigned tasks, they will be required to continue working on the task through completion, or until the task is properly transferred to a co-worker. Follow strict Systems patching policy. Follow pre-deployment checklist. Is required to baseline Systems before deployment and provide monthly reports on current performance. Assists in the daily monitoring servers/systems and respond quickly to alerts. Must assume ownership of issues and work issues until completion, unless changed by management. Rotate an on-call schedule with co-workers. While on-call, will be required to carry a laptop and Blackberry/Cell phone. Response time must be within 15 minutes to alerts. Is required to follow proper escalation procedures as defined by management. Is required to attend knowledge transfer sessions as necessary as well as facilitate knowledge transfer to other co-workers. Must take part in strategic and tactical weekly meetings as necessary. Must complete or update operational runbooks as required for handoff to the operations team. Is required to follow proper quality assurance procedures regarding releasing anything into production. Assigned as the primary technical support resource or the secondary technical support resource for specific servers/systems. As the primary technical support resource, expert knowledge is expected. As the secondary technical support resource, general working knowledge is expected. Will have the opportunity to learn other technologies to further their technical and career growth, only after they are at an expert level for their primary support roles. REQUIRED SKILLS: 5+ years of information technology experience supporting enterprise class environments Strong organization and communication skills; must clearly communicate production related, technical issues and resolutions to customer/clients, other departments and senior management Ability to understand data flow dependencies between applications across regions Must be able to establish effective professional business relationships with all levels of management Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and drive completion of deliverables Must be able to govern regional IT initiatives to ensure that all process and procedures are executed following company policies and standards Must possess strong writing and documentation skills Experience with technologies directly related this position Ability to translate business requirements and needs to valuable technological initiatives Identify and provide problem resolution for infrastructure inefficiencies and allow for the prevention of reoccurring issues with long-term, end-to-end solutions Significant understanding of security issues relating to deployment of highly sensitive systems which contain significant company and customer data. Must be accustomed to responding quickly and in a controlled manner to emergencies Skilled in troubleshooting issues in high pressure, business critical production environments. Previous trading experience preferred or equivalent high speed, high-pressure environments in financial sector Technical Skills Business Objects Enterprise XI R2, Crystal Enterprise 8-10, Crystal Reports 10 - 2008, Web Intelligence XI R2, Universe Designer, Import Wizard, Query Builder, Instance Manager, Change Control, Version Control, Software Development Life Cycle, Security Models, SMTP, FTP, Clustering, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, JIRA EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
