Up to $90KKey experience:UNIX, Sun Solaris, Perl Scripting, Shell Scripting Responsibilities:Operational support of multiple, remote environments. This involves performance monitoring and analysis and the development of improved monitoring methodologies, tools, and systems reporting processes.Provide first level technical support for staff.Communicate systems related issues to staff.Understand the architecture of the environment.Manage the startup of the environment.Monitor the trading environment and identify and report system failures and inefficiencies.Understand the purpose of the applications used by the staff.Understand how these applications are accessed by the staff.Understand the communications needs and expected behavior of these applications.Troubleshoot and resolve unexpected application or system behavior.Recommend improvements to facilitate better management and monitoring of the environment. Qualifications:BS in Computer Science or 2 to 3 years work experience as a UNIX systems administrator.Knowledge of the UNIX operating system (Solaris and Linux preferred).Strong Perl and Shell Programming skills. C and C knowledge is a plus.Previous trading environment experience a plusStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with users.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Self-motivated with interest in learning new applications and systems.Ability to handle multiple issues of varying priority effectively.Ability to work unsupervised.
