Job Title: Director, Technology – Service Delivery Lead (SDL) Job Summary The Director, Technology – SDL is one of the senior most delivery roles within Sapient blending delivery, operations, people management and growth, and business development. The Service Delivery Lead should bring a unique blend of experience and expertise encompassing technical architecture and design combined with exceptional project/ program and people management skills. This person will provide vision and leadership to teams across a portfolio of clients. The Director will demonstrate a broad technical knowledge and will be able to advise teams on a technical basis as needed. The Director will work with the Business lead to establish goals and priorities and will work with Client Executives to expand the portfolio. The SDL will drive the process improvement mentality across the portfolio and inspire excellence in teams. As a critical part of the Sapient organization the Director, Technology – Service Delivery Lead will visibly participate in the growth of the organization. Key Responsibilities include: Partner with the Client Executive to expand the portfolio Owns effort and cost estimation, and solution structuring during the sales life cycle Focus on staffing, project setup, scope management, risk management, quality, client management Contributing towards improving Sapient’s delivery capability Meet specific metrics around leakage, erosion and utilization Drive compliance on “institutionalized” processes Coaching & mentoring of team members Reviews other’s estimates and points out holes. Assesses how project risks will impact estimates Works with the client and delivery teams and takes on a “hands-on” approach to identify and suggest approaches to resolve any technical issues as they arise. Proactively suggests tools and best practices to prevent such issues. Communicates difficult scenarios to the client Participates in extending knowledge of their area of specialization within Sapient. Guides a team in using their area of expertise. Reviews implementation models and recommends pros/cons of different approaches. Participates in accumulating and disseminating specialty Best Practices Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. 12 plus years of experience in enterprise architecture and project/program delivery Experience in a consulting firm highly desired Operational experience including P&L management Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage client accounts and multi-track Sapient teams Experience in creating engagement structuring, detailed scope and estimation Effectively communicate with clients regarding delivery Experience in proposal development Experience in managing distributed and highly matrixed teams Experience in running teams of 50+ people Proven mentoring and coaching abilities to ensure effective growth plans of members of Sapient teams; Ability to understand critical issues and bring appropriate resolution to cross-industry, complex issues; Ability to drive complex estimates that take one or more projects into account and to effectively communicate risks and dependencies to clients Frequent overnight travel may be required About Sapient Sapient, a global services firm, helps clients compete, evolve and grow in an increasingly complex marketplace.
