General Summary:  The Epic Quality Lead (QL) is responsible for providing leadership for the development and implementation of a Quality Management Program (standards, processes, tools and controls) within Information Services in order to meet or exceed customer expectations.  Specifically the Epic Quality Lead is accountable for developing and executing test plans for the Epic applications and ensuring configuration change management control of test and production systems. Principal Duties and Responsibilities• Management – Leads the Epic testing team through Upgrade, Integration and User Acceptance testing. Is also responsible for configuration/code management across the various Epic environments.  • Leadership - Is recognized as a leader within the IS department or special segment of the customer community.  Identifies issues and risks.  Looked to for direction in a crisis.  • Technical Skills - Is not only an expert in certain skills, but shows an awareness and knowledge within multiple business or technical areas; knowledge and experience in typical testing tools for defect management and performance testing.• Project Planning - Authors and executes test project plans.  Manages risks.  Brings projects to closure within reasonable variances.  Uses resources effectively and efficiently.  Assists project managers within the department to develop project test plans.• Communication & Influencing - Excellent written and verbal skills.  Reviews documentation.  Authors entire or subsets of policies and procedures that will be reviewed for publication or wide distribution.  Establishes rapport with Customers.  • Teacher, Mentor & Personal Growth - Develops content and conducts departmental sessions in area of expertise.  Assigns challenging and stretching tasks to team members.  Versatile learner; open to change; experiments.  Provides constructive feedback.  Actively seeks internal or external activities or training to enhance capabilities.  • Business Sense - Is considered well versed in overall business/clinical functions (Healthcare: Clinical, Financial and Operational).  Is included in business planning solutions for the IT viewpoint.  Understands impact of change across the organization.  Has a good sense of timing.  Knows how to get things done both through formal channels and the informal network.• Initiative - Is committed to continuous improvement; uses metrics and other tools to drive improvement.• Meetings - Demonstrates good judgment about the necessity to convene meetings and the membership in those meetings.• Budgeting – May be accountable for project or project testing budgets.  • Maintenance and Support – Performs activities needed to maintain the status quo functions of assigned area; extended hours and on call duties required.• Identifies and critically evaluates opportunities to leverage third party resources (tools, consultants, contractors); develops an ongoing relationship with third party resources for flexible project staffing.• Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Education: BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Quality Engineering, Healthcare or related discipline required.  Epic or other clinical system experience highly desirable.• 5 years experience leading quality testing teams.• Familiarity of formal quality techniques through training and direct experience (examples: ASQ, CQA, Six Sigma, SPC, statistical management techniques, root cause/corrective action, etc.)• Experience with implementing and supporting automated test tools highly desirable• Command of typical office tools (Microsoft Professional Suite, Lotus Notes, e-mail, etc.).• Knowledge of formal project management techniques and tools through training and direct experience (MS Project or other project scheduling tools) desirable.  To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
