Job DescriptionSD3 is seeking a Senior Application Developer with a financial background. This is a career opportunity with an SD3 client located in Chicago. The Senior Application Developer will participate in full life cycle development of a variety of applications, including requirements gathering and analysis, design, development, enhancement, and troubleshooting. You will help our clients improve their business performance and maintain a competitive edge, and will help develop and maintain an internal best practices and development artifacts. Key Responsibilities Work closely with project managers, architects and other developers to analyze and refine business requirements, design efficient and scalable solutions, and produce technical specifications Design solution architectures encompassing multiple, complex application components with multiple integration points between them Design, develop and test complex applications and architecture components that fit within the overall solution architecture and leverage the client s technologies and toolsets Help lead high-level architecture and performance reviews of existing trading systems Follow firm and industry standards, procedures, and methodologies related to application development Contribute to collective team knowledge by researching new technologies and products pertinent to financial services as well as keeping up to date with professional publications and maintaining person and professional networks Contribute to and maintain the firm s knowledge capital such development standards, design artifacts, best practices, and source code libraries Provide support to sales processes Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Key Requirements - most but not all required Graduate (BS, BA, MS or PhD) with a strong academic record preferably with a computer science, engineering or science degree 7+ years experience with multi-threaded software development (C, C++, Java, C#) Experience designing complex applications and distributed architectures Driven performance test efforts and fixed problems uncovered Participated in all phases of the software development lifecycle Experience working with 29West, TIBCO, SonicMQ, WebSphere MQ or other distributed messaging systems (custom included) Hands-on experience with version control tools and automated build Servers Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills Highly professional demeanor and ability to comfortably interact with team members and clients at all levels Ability and desire to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment Analytical and problem solving skills.
