SQL Server 2005 DBA/Database DeveloperNeeded: Senior SQL Server 2005 DBA/Database Developer*MUST be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder no sponsorship*Horizon Technology Partners has an immediate FULL-TIME, PERMANENT opening for a Sr. SQL Server 2005 DBA/Database Developer-Engineer with strong T-SQL and ETL (SSIS) for a FT position for our client downtown Chicago, IL. In this role you will split you time between functioning as an Operational SQL Server 2005 DBA (50%) and a Database Developer.  While at the client site you will function as a DBA for a database intensive analytics Web application built on a Microsoft SQL2005 backbone. The client utilizes the entire SQL2K5 technology stack (including the enterprise capabilities of the database server, Analysis Services for OLAP, SSIS for ETL and data integration, and Reporting Services for building reports). The successful candidate will be a member of the core platform team and responsible for the design and implementation of application and data tier functionality leveraging the above-mentioned technology components. As a member of a small team delivering an online software as a service offering, all DB engineers on the team are also expected to have some production support responsibilities.The ideal candidate is an will have a solid background in relational database modeling and experience building high performance database-intensive transactional applications is required. The candidate must be able to analyze SQL queries for performance bottlenecks and optimize such queries with a structured approach. Specific experience on the SQL2K5 platform is required. (YOU SHOULD BE FAMILIAR and ready to discuss new features added to SQL Server in the SQL2005 release.  Familiarity with OLAP and data warehousing concepts and OLAP modeling is a plus.
