Business Analyst in Chicago, IL
The Distributed Frameworks division is looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to work on a project to implement a sustainable license and software management process for the division. The Distributed Frameworks division consists of several development and infrastructure support teams and owns the licensing & maintenance for 40+ different software applications/versions which are deployed across the enterprise.
HIGH-LEVEL JOB DUTIES:
- Implement a maintainable license tracking & planning process for the division
- Coordinate all software maintenance & deployment functions
- Generate a reporting, auditing and reconciliation methodology for all supported software
- Identify requirements & work with technical resources/teams to develop scripts for gathering & verifying software deployment information across all relevant platforms (unix, linux, MS, etc...)
- Implement a standard and trackable software request and cleanup process
- Work with vendors to determine deployment guidelines
- Perform quote/invoice/PO management review & reconciliation
- Document and train team members on procedures/tools
- Leverage existing tools/implement new tools to address licensing & software management
- Ensure alignment with enterprise procurement practices and initiatives
- Engage with tech services and PMO teams to as needed
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The ideal candidate would have experience in implementing/managing software licensing, maintenance and deployment in a technical environment. The candidate must have at least 2-3 years of experience in technology and must be a proven self-starter. He/she should also be able to manage multiple tasks concurrently and work well in a fast paced and team oriented environment.

Profile

Responsibilities

Look for opportunities to improve existing processes or provide new value to business areas through the application of technology resources
Attend business meetings (some travel required)
Work closely with the ISG to determine if a solution already exists within our technology portfolio or if one needs to be built or modified
Collaborate with the ISG on scope definition, cost/benefit analysis and project timelines
Participate in design and development meetings with project teams to provide perspective on the needs of the business users and help to resolve issues arising during the project
Provide ongoing support to the applications development team during construction to insure delivered solution will fully satisfy the business needs for which it is intended
Facilitate meetings with the business area throughout duration of project, demonstrating prototypes and early product versions in order to keep business users up-to-date with project status and obtain timely, relevant feedback
Qualifications
Experience as a business analyst for an enterprise software or top-tier consulting firm
College degree with focus in business, computer science or management information systems (or equivalent), advanced degree in business preferred
Experience writing business requirements
