Monitor selected mainframe systems to ensure that they are running within expected guidelines. Troubleshoot performance problems if/when they occur to help identify and resolve the problem in a timely manner.

a. Utilize provided tools (Omegamon, RMF, etc) to observe how the selected systems are performing
b. Utilize provided tools to make performance changes as bottlenecks are discovered
c. Work with clients, team members, and co-workers to resolve problems
d. Provide information to leadership as requested regarding performance issues, trends and other requested insite.

2) Perform Capacity Planning on selected mainframe systems to track historical usage and project future capacity requirements.
a. Monitor CPU (and associated components such as paging) usage changes
b. Produce periodic reports as requested (daily, weekly, monthly, adhoc)
c. Utilize provided software (BMC, SAS, MXG, RMF) to provide analytics, advice and recommendations about capacity changes
d. Create, update and manage WLM policies in a large Sysplex environment
Experience: 1) In depth mainframe knowledge, including mainframe Systems Programming, Capacity Planning and Operations.
2) Strong analytical skills in order to provide clear, concise, accurate observations and recommendations regarding capacity usage and future trends.
3) Ability to use PC office tools to create charts and presentations for customers to clearly communicate results of performance and capacity studies
4) Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible in work hours and projects and assignments, handling the hectic pace of being in an outsourcing environment.
5) Ability to communicate clearly, professionally and appropriately with all levels of the organization and customers, especially when formal capacity plans need to be discussed/presented.
6) Ability to think out-of-the-box and be creative in solution design
