Information Security Manager in Chicago, IL
Management of Information Security:
* Manage the development and implementation of global security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security. Protection responsibilities will include asset protection, identity management, access control systems, and more. Information protection responsibilities will include network security architecture, network access and monitoring policies, employee education and awareness, and more.
* Oversees information assurance operational activities to include perimeter, network and host based security controls.
* Oversee incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches, and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches as necessary.
IT Security Operations:
* Works with Legal and Compliance and Information Technology on the annual IT Audit.
* Effectively utilizes resources to improve IT security.
* Monitors and reports on IT security issues with the objective of minimizing loss of Data.
* Responsible for establishing measures necessary to protect the institution data from unauthorized access, or other acts of damage or destruction.
* Conducts reviews for compliance with Firm Policy.
* Develops and presents appropriate training for Firm employee's.
* Plans and coordinates information security investigations to include cost-benefit evaluations of proposed and existing security solutions.
* Liaise between IT and Legal and Compliance inquiries.
Skills/Knowledge:
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred, but not mandatory. Comprehensive knowledge of related laws and regulations is expected. Familiarity with current information security technology, resources and systems is also required.
* Demonstrated expertise in the area of Information Security to include the concepts of risk assessment and management.
* A high degree of technical knowledge regarding computer systems, access controls, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and overall knowledge of computer security systems is required.
* Experience with applicable compliance and regulatory requirements
Experience: * Problem Solving/Decision Making Work requires decisions involving judgment within a framework of practice, policy, procedure, and/or precedent. Latitude is given to determine priorities and to deviate from established practice provided outcome falls within accepted standards.
* The work environment is fast paced and diverse requiring the ability to continually prioritize work assignments.
Requirements:
* Position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or other relevant field
* A minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible work experience related to Information Security in a financial services environment to include investigation, supervision, and management responsibilities.
* Experience in Financial Services a plus
