Title: Software Engineer

Duties:
Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Specifically, design and program software applications that meet the end-user requirements. Formulate and define new application development scope and objectives. Devise new or modify existing applications or procedures to solve complex problems. Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written, and design, code, test, debug, and document those programs, with consideration for computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, existing development standards, and form of desired results. Work with business analyst, end user, and business managers to define application development specifications. Ensure the development specifications meet the desired business goals through the preparation of design documents and application prototypes. Develop fully functional applications based on business specifications (and design documents). Provide unit testing of all work product and submits application changes through a well defined change management process. Participate in a team environment in an effort to continually improve application development processes, inter-team communications, and the end-user experience.
Education Required:
BS in Computer Science or related degree, or foreign equivalent
Experience Required:
5 years progressively responsible experience in the position or in the related occupations of Computer Programmer, Programmer Analyst, Management Analyst, IT Consultant
Special Requirements:
Application development experience in financial services business environment. Experience in all phases of the application development lifecycle. Experience with designing, coding, and testing web-based applications for both internal and public use. Technical requirements include: Oracle Forms (version 9i) development languages and tools; Java development language (J2EE); Oracle and SQL Server 2000 database technologies; PERL, Pro*C, XML and Unix shell scripting; Work experience in all phases of SDLC (Microsoft framework preferred); and Microsoft productivity applications (Office).
