SUMMARY: The Cognos Software Engineer will work with the IT department to understand business requirements and correlate potential technology solutions that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. This person will be involved in the full systems life cycle and responsible for all/part of designing, developing, testing, implementing and supporting applications software. Makes recommendations towards the development of new or existing software. Assists/participates in component and data architecture design, performance engineering, product evaluation and buy vs. build recommendations.RESPONSIBILITIES:* Breaks down business requirements into activities and artifacts that when realized, produce software that meets the business requirements.* Provides both order-of-magnitude and detailed estimates for software development activities and artifacts.
