Title: Object Oriented Software Engineer Pay Rate: $70,000 - $100,000 based on experience Skills: Unix, Oracle, Java, Corba Job Description SD3 is seeking an Object Oriented Software Engineer. This is a career opportunity with an SD3 client located in downtown Chicago. This person will work with the Systems and Object Architects to translate high level specifications into use cases, object models and ultimately into designs and implementation (code). Key Responsibilities Design and development of technology and business/domain object models, in addition to the identification of design alternatives that will implement a solution from a specific analysis model. Evaluation of design alternatives for development cost, solutions using various object-oriented engineering methods and perform code test coverage analysis on components for turnover to integration testing team. Provide support and maintenance for existing applications. Sometimes production support requires working outside the regular working hours for installation, testing and setup purposes, this must not pose a problem to the candidate. Key Requirements 5 years of industry experience developing computer software, preferably in the financial industry. 3-5 years of experience in Java (Use of concurrency, util, lang and other CORE Java packages). Experience in Oracle or any other SQL based database. Experience in Unix Shell Scripting. Experience in Object modelling utilizing UML preferred. Experience in the use of development process guidelines including Scrum or RUP preferred. Practical hands-on experience using Corba is preferable Development experience within a Real Time, highly available system on UNIX server and exposure to relational or object-oriented databases management systems. B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or similar. Must possess excellent communications skills Demonstrated proficiency developing framework-based software is a must.
