*Position is a 6 month contract to hire*Prestigious Fortune 500 Company, located in the Chicago Loop, is currently seeking a DB2 DBA on Mainframe Z/OS with experience with the CA Compare toll used for schema comparisons used on DB2 zOS. Candidate will provide database support for the build-out of the new Consumer Relations application At a high level, the project involves creation of new z-Linux Webshere guests, a new open systems Hyperion/Sybase IQ reporting environment and extensive changes to the DB2 zOS database tables to support new functionality. The database work includes updates to existing test schemas and/or creation of new test schemas, physical database design, performance and SQL tuning, operational readiness testing and deployment. In addition to the table changes, developing an automated process for refreshing a mirror environment with production dta is also in scope. There are also miscellaneous tasks related to standardizing security across the schemas, dropping obsolete tables, etc. Because of the extensive work required in standardizing and creating new schemas, expert knowledge of the CA-Compare tool (used for schema comparisons on DB2 zOS) is required.
