Java Architect in Chicago, IL
This role requires the candidate to understand business functional requirements and translate them to a strategic vision for the Credit Card Services (CCS) and Retail Services (RS) application. The candidate will be responsible for Architectural decisions with regard to the CCS and RS customer care apps on the web, performance and efficiency of the app and understanding and working with the business on the business functional requirements. Apply guiding principles to projects as defined by the strategic vision.
The app ARCHITECT must understand the overall technical environment and performance requirements. The ARCHITECT will interact with the app development team, the solutions architect, channel, business, DBAs and infrastructure staff to develop the most efficient solution to the business requirements.
The app ARCHITECT will need to resolve data modeling and performance issues. Must see the entire system of programs and functionalities, how they will influence and affect each other and how the software tools must interact with the technical infrastructure to create a seamless environment. The ARCHITECT will ensure thorough education and documentation that the team understands the target application and the database design and its usage.
The ARCHITECT will establish guiding principles and Architectural decisions regarding the app to the development team. Will take into account the strategic vision that works for both global and local organizational units. Ensure that solutions interface with security and global solutions. Is responsible for ensuring code quality and that the code delivers the designed solution. Will work with all levels of management to determine and document needs and deliver acceptable solutions. Make recommendations to the SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT for continuous improvement. Will mentor junior staff. Will provide on-call production support on a weekly rotation with the rest of the team.
