We are looking for a Data Center Technician. This role will be based in Chicago but will entail occasional travel to the NY area. Detailed job description below.

On a day to day basis the role will entail:

Rack and stack Data Center equipment according to plan
Run all cabling for low voltage according to plan.
Coordinate with users and with Electrical and Low Voltage vendors in order to ensure quality and timely completion of work.
Maintenance of detailed cable inventory and recording of ongoing metrics.

Experience: Layer1 Cable Technician with solid understanding in Cat5E, Cat6/6E/6A, fiber and Telecom.
Journeymen level experience in Low voltage installs. Fluke certification required.
Solid understanding of TIA-EIA, IEEE-802 BISCI, NEC, OSHA as it relates to low-voltage and POE
Familiarity with cable management processes and management of all aspects of the cable plant.
Knowledge of Network (LAN/WAN/MAN including SONET), Telecom, Server, and Storage Technologies. A+ Certification is a plus.
Understanding of Electrical and Mechanical systems used in Data Centers.
Able to understand Cad and Visio drawings and the ability to design/troubleshoot from drawings
High end computer experience with MS office and Visio. Autodesk CAD Experience a plus.
Able to monitor contractors conducting layer one and infrastructure installation projects.
