Define development tools and procedures for daily operational support
Supports application activities that required scripting/programming in perl/shell/sql/awk,etc
Identify changes needed in the infrastructure configuration to achieve the technology organization goals
Liaison with application development teams and infrastructure delivery teams to ensure that development and test schedules are understood and mapped to infrastructure requirements.
Co-ordination with infrastructure groups to ensure that required environments are built, configured and delivered to a defined schedule.
Prioritization of build-out work with infrastructure groups.
Producing and maintaining an inventory of environments together with a calendar of current and planned environment usage.
Ensure that any requested/required changes to test environments go through a comprehensive impact analysis, are scheduled with the required lead time, and well communicated across the project and cross-functional teams.
Deploying, promoting and tracking code base and data through test environments.
Co-ordination of infrastructure upgrades of test environments.
Planning efficient use of hardware resources and re-use of existing environments as they become free.
Establish standard mechanism for requesting environments and providing information on environment usage and provision.
Establish and implement a structured and documented cross work stream Configuration Management approach that establishes standards for packaging and moving code between environments (version control, change control, code migration, etc.).
Identify, track and facilitate swift resolution to outstanding issues and actions related to test environments.
Maintain project documentation in a well organized / easy to access document management system.
Contribute to continuous improvement by leveraging quality improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma).
Share / leverage successful products, processes and best practices.
Manage the implementation of technology and infrastructure changes, effectively communicating customer needs to the team.
Manage effective issue identification and resolution process; serve as the focal point for infrastructure-related issue / crisis resolution
Identify opportunities to save costs and more effectively manage assets and escalate the opportunities.
Ensure communication of process and procedure changes to key stakeholders.
Support identification and collection of metrics and performance reporting processes.
Monitors delivery against SLAs and reports exceptions to management.
Participate in process improvement initiatives, when applicable.
