We are currently searching for a dynamic Cognos Developer

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with technology teams to deliver innovative reporting solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • Work closely with DBA's and business users to develop solid report designs that perform well under heavy use.
  • Work as a member of a team to deliver reporting solutions that are integrated into a Perl based application interface.
  • Work with QA teams to develop automated test suites to ensure a high degree of quality.
  • Tracks and reports on issues and solutions and escalates as appropriate, recommends and obtains resolution.
  • Monitors and tracks delivery of quality control and takes corrective action as appropriate
  • Ensures that client and functional requirements are met

    Experience
    2+ years experience in software development
    1+ years experience in report/query authoring in Cognos
    2+ years experience in SQL
    2+ years experience with HTML / Javascript / CSS
    Experience with AJAX, Perl or Java a big plus.

    Desired Skills / Abilities
  • Experience in designing and developing complex reports utilizing Cognos report authoring tool
  • Experience in open source technologies with broad skills in technologies such as Apache, MySQL, Portals, Web Services, AJAX, Java, JavaScript, SOAP, Ant, Virtual Machines, Subversion,
  • Skilled in scripting languages such as Javascript, Perl, Ruby, and Linux/Unix Shell scripting.
  • Strong knowledge in SQL. Able to understand schemas, create optimized queries and work with Oracle.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies is a plus.

    Required Education
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of formal education.
