Robert Half Technology has a client, a proprietary financial trading firm, with an immediate opening for a QA Developer. This QA Developer will assist in the development and execution of unit tests, regression tests, performance testing, and load testing. This role will work closely with the developers, end users, and testers to generate requirements documents and provide actionable feedback. Responsibilities include writing test scripts, generating functional specifications for complex trading applications and working with automation engineers to automate the manual test specifications. To understand their products and test their applications effectively, the incumbent must have previous experience with a financial trading firm or a large banking institution. Special consideration will be given to those candidates with background in the financial fixed income and/or commodity markets. This position requires 3+ years experience in QA. Prior programming and/or development experience is critical, as this is a more hands-on technical role. Must have the ability to bring in strong business knowledge to the team. Scripting experience such as VB, Python (Iron Python), Ruby or Perl with SQL 2000/20005 experience is also a big plus as well as excellent knowledge of documentation, knowledge management skills, good knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows environment.
