We are currently seeking to fill a Finance Applications Senior Quality Analyst position for our client in Chicago, IL. Responsibilities: This role will be responsible for preparing test plans and test scripts as well as for testing the application. The QA will report to the project manager and will interact with business analysts, technical teammates, and other parts of the IT organization. Qualifications: - Must have at least five years of QA experience on IT custom development projects. - Must have worked on complex applications. - Must have extensive experience writing test cases and executing test scripts. - Must have excellent communications skills. - Must be able to work independently. - Must be able to interact and liaison with business analysts and the teams technical staff. - Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Must have knowledge of standard quality assurance processes. - Must have comprehensive testing skills including the ability to ensure that the system is meeting all defined requirements. - Must understand basic business concepts such as accounting and payroll. - Must understand relational databases and be able to write basic SQL statements. - Must be able to work additional hours when necessary. - Definite plus if the candidate has understanding of the financial industry, especially securities brokerage. - Definite plus if the candidate has experience with compensation systems. - A nice-to have is some exposure to relevant project technologies like .NET, Oracle, and DB2/UDB.
