Assignment Capsule The Technology Operations Analyst will own hardware & software support for Humana's Distributed Systems Installation group, which spans 250+ users in the Madison office. The Analyst will be in charge of complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. Analyst will ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. TEAM STRUCTURE The Technology Operations Analyst reports to the Technology Field Manager - DSI. The Distributed Systems Installation (DSI) group is responsible for 2nd level user support and spans four locations: Chicago IL, Kansas City MO, Milwaukee WI, and Middleton WI. This role will be located in the Chicago office and is part of an existing team of 2 other Technology Operations Analysts. OBJECTIVES 1. Hardware Support (30%): Troubleshoot and diagnose computer problems via telephone, NetMeeting and/or in person; replacement of computer hardware components as needed. Hardware includes desktops (70%), laptops (30%), servers, switches, and tape backup systems. 2. Software Support (70%): Troubleshoot and repair currently installed software. Install and configure software per Humana documentation; perform application upgrades and disc imaging as needed. Evaluate and recommend software to increase users productivity. 3. Leadership: Establish the role as a lead expert or specialist in a variety of areas including: disaster recovery, information security, network analysis, design/engineering, and network communications including LAN/WAN systems, networks, and applications. Act as the lead resource for direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff in these various areas. 4. Special Projects: Take on special project assignments (roll-outs, etc) and deliver results against short timelines. 5. Challenges: Interact with end users who are persistent and demanding in a professional and disarming manner. Balance the needs of others while executing on assigned tasks. 6. Success: Success in this role is determined by Remedy reports detailing resolution time and other metrics, as well as end user & team member feedback. Key Competencies
