Overview:

This role will be responsible for participating in the support, design, and development effort of the Manufacturing Data Information Systems (MDIS) Development Team. The MDIS team is responsible for developing and implementing software applications and interfaces to collect and report on quality, process, and production data as part of the manufacturing process, in the context of the computing environment at manufacturing locations, including LAN, PLC, HMI, and other equipment. This position reports to the Manager of Distributed SCM and Corporate IT Applications.



Required Qualifications:

- Microsoft Access, VB.NET, and SQL Server database application development experience, in a distributed computing environment.

- Data analysis skills with relation to designing views of the database for useful reporting.

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Demonstrated ability to understand, identify, and recommend solutions to manufacturing-related information needs.

- Minimum of 2 years of application design and development experience with relevant technologies, including Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, VB.NET, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, and ODBC.

- Minimum of 1-2 years of software implementation or support experience in a manufacturing environment

- 2 years of VB.NET coding experience is essential

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

- Ability to work well with others in a remote team environment.

- Strong communication skills.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time, prioritize as needed, and meet deadlines.

- Self-motivation and a high level of initiative.

- Ability to travel to plant locations (estimated 20% travel)



Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience or familiarity with OPC strongly desired.

- Knowledge of factory floor programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and supporting online instrumentation preferred.

- ASP.NET experience preferred.

- 3 years of software development experience preferred

- 1 year OPC experience is preferred
