My client is looking for a System Administrator to ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links. This Systems Administrator must have excellent ability in writing specifications and gathering requirements from a user to develop Crystal Reports as per the needs of the user and maintain documentation of the reports for future reference. This Systems Administrator will also analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. Experience: This Systems Administrator position requires at least 2 years of Crystal Reports development, a college diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 15 years of equivalent work experience, knowledge of creating trending and aging reports, and experience writing SQL statements and analyzing query performance as it relates to Crystal reporting. Candidates must also possess a solid understanding of data structures and how they supply data to the various Crystal Reports, certifications in MSCE, MCDBA, CCNA, and working technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Windows XP/2000/Vista, Server 2003/2000. Extensive application support experience with SQL, Citrix Presentation Server, Symantec Backup and Exchange Server, working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including Citrix Presentation Server, Exchange Server, and Cisco, and strong knowledge of WAN/LAN/VOIP administration are also required. Other requirements include: Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience; Experience with data management; Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives; Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws; Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills; Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals; Ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required; Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language.
