Financial Systems Analyst in Chicago, IL
POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Systems Analyst performs routine maintenance on the firm's time and billing system, responds to basic data requests, participates in financial systems software upgrades and becomes a backup resource for the Financial Systems department. This position is based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Understand daily operations and integration of the enterprise applications.
-Perform routine maintenance on the firm's time and billing system.
-Use Query Analyzer for data extraction from the firm's various application databases.
-Use Excel at an intermediate level to provide reporting.
-Exposure to Microsoft Access database design.
-Assist project team during enterprise application upgrades.
-Contribute to and participate in initiatives to improve internal finance processes and related client services processes.
-Act as backup resource for other financial systems personnel.
-Readily adapt to changing priorities and demands.
-Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.
-Perform other job-related duties as necessary.
Experience: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelors in Computer Science, Finance or Business or minimum of two years related business experience.
-At least one year of SQL experience with relational databases.
-Working knowledge of CMS software functionality and its underlying data tables a plus.
-Business experience in a professional services environment a plus.
-Basic understanding of technical infrastructure required for today's client server and web-deployed applications.
-Must have general understanding of accounting principles.
-Intermediate Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word.
-Beginner level Access skills.
-Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
-Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
-Ability to work additional hours as needed.
