Quality Analyst in Chicago, IL
POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Quality Analyst will help ensure that a common testing approach is followed throughout the Development and Application Management groups and develop and execute test plans from extracted functional requirements to ensure implementation of high quality and more effective business solutions. This position is based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Assist in ensuring that a common testing approach is followed throughout the Development and Application Management groups - ensuring that products are not released to production until they has been fully tested.
-Deliver projects within the established commitments, ensuring quality, performance, and conformance with established specifications.
-Assist in the execution of all quality assurance efforts for Development - utilizing Development resources as appropriate.
-Analyze business requirements and incident reports for testability.
-Develop QA test plans that clearly map to and account for defined business requirements.
-Plan, coordinate, and schedule test coverage to provide high value during the product release process.
-Design, establish, and execute test strategies and plans in accordance with a common testing approach.
-Perform all types of testing including transaction (unit), integration (system), load, regression, white box, and black box.
-Adhere to highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.
-Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.
-Perform other job-related duties as necessary.
Experience: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Financial and HR systems experience a plus.
-Consulting experience a plus.
-QAI certification a plus.
-Technical background in object-oriented product development and Internet programming, distributed and client/server computing.
-Appreciation of user-centered design and strong business and customer focus.
-Software testing experience in a complex, real-time system.
-Experience in developing and delivering production quality software.
-Self-motivated and able to deliver to schedules, as well as work with and incorporate input from other areas.
-Proven experience with at least one testing methodology.
-Strong attention to detail.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to work additional hours as needed.
