Project Managers w/Bank of America Experience in Chicago, IL
our client is in need of 12 experienced project managers and 1 senior project manager to be located in either charlotte, atlanta or chicago. the project managers will have 4 to 6 years experience leading cross-functional project teams and must have bank of america experience. extensive skills with microsoft project 2000, powerpoint, visio, word, excel and outlook are needed along with knowledge of six sigma change process, pmi process and financial management. experience building / managing a detailed ms project workplan (resource loaded) and developing / managing a detailed project budget is also required. of the 12 project managers, it is expected that at least 2 will have experience with system conversions and site shut-down activities. it is also expected that the senior project manager will have 6 to 10 years experience in leading cross-functional teams along with the same required skills as listed below.
responsibilities:
- accountable for schedule, cost and resource rerformance on large projects.
- effectively manages large projects by demonstrating expertise in: resource planning, work breakdown structures, risk/issue management, financial management, implementation planning, testing, training/communication and scope management.
- ability to navigate across lines of business.
- proactively works to prevent and/or resolve problems / issues / risks; know if, when, to whom, and how to escalate.
- communicates project goals, roles, deliverables and milestones to the project team.
- plans, prepares for and effectively facilitates team meetings and presentations to executive management.
- effectively uses project management and six sigma methodology and tools.
- gathers, retains and disseminates key information about the project environment, status, issues, etc.
- identifies and obtains the skill sets and resources needed for success in the project.
- uses project tasks and roles to stretch and develop staff (within acceptable risk levels).
- learns the business partner's business, systems and operations; bring the voice of the customer into the project.
- understands the business partner's goals / objectives and how the project impacts them.
- develops strong business partner relationships through open communication and consistent delivery.
- influences business partners to consider solution trade-offs and make sound decisions.
- motivates the team to constantly strive for peak performance.
- manages assignment of work / responsibilities to maximize available resources.
- succeeds in challenging situations where the problem and/or resolution is ambiguous.
experience: required skills/experience:
- 4-6 years experience leading cross-functional project team.
- must have bank of america experience.
- extensive skills with microsoft project 2000, powerpoint, visio, word, excel and outlook.
- knowledge of six sigma change process, pmi process, financial management, effective written and verbal communication skills, influencing and negotiation skills and working effectively in a virtual environment with matrixed resources.
- experience building / managing a detailed ms project workplan (resource loaded) and developing / managing a detailed project budget.
- senior project manager role only - 6 to 10 years experience in leading cross-functional teams.
- 2 project manager roles only - experience with system conversions and site shut-down activities.
