As a member of both a writing group and a product development team, your primary focus as a Technical Writer at DoubleClick will be to write and edit materials designed to assist clients in learning to use DoubleClick online advertising products. The deliverables for clients will include online user guides, technical white papers and context-sensitive help. The writer will be responsible for all aspects of the writing process including researching, editing and publishing deliverables for an application release.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Create, update and publish user guides and context-sensitive online help for assigned product lines
Work collaboratively with product development and client-facing groups to identify client deliverables
Write new documents including product overviews and white papers that focus on technology and DoubleClick applications
Research new tools and technology to improve both internal workflow and external publishing
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Must have 3 to 5 years writing experience – preferably in the software industry
Solid experience with FrameMaker and RoboHelp – ability to troubleshoot template issues
BA/BS in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or related degree.
Strong technical background and understanding of Internet-related technologies
Ability to write for an external audience - must be prepared to provide writing samples that demonstrate both procedural and conceptual writing styles
Proven ownership of writing projects – from research and editing stages through final distribution to clients
Writing and editing experience with established style guidelines
Ability to analyze and logically organize complex technical information
Experience with online publishing and content management applications
