Senior Manager, eCommerce Strategy
Job Summary:
A Senior Manager, eCommerce Strategy leads the development of innovative strategies to improve business performance for Sapient’s eCommerce clients. This individual will work on projects to develop eCommerce business, operating, and IT strategies. The focus of work includes three key areas:
eCommerce Business Problem Solving – You tackle our clients’ toughest business problems by leveraging Sapient’s research and business assessment capabilities to define the problem and identify innovative solutions.
Informed eCommerce Business Decision Making – You bring rigor to the client decision-making process by conducting detailed financial analyses, presenting solution options, and driving consensus among key stakeholders.
eCommerce Solution Planning – You define, scope and plan new solutions for clients, including determining how to measure business results, modeling business processes, gathering business requirements, and identifying the organizational changes required to realize the benefits of the solution.
Primary Responsibilities:
Drive eCommerce strategy engagements including:
o Merchandising strategy
o Order management and fulfillment
o Related brand and marketing strategies
? Acquisition demand generation strategies and measurement
? Retention strategies and analysis
? Customer analytics and reporting (cross-channel)
? Personalization
o Globalization strategies
o Affiliate programs
o Vendor relations
o Enabling eCommerce and marketing technologies.
Lead the gathering and prioritization of business requirements based upon eCommerce business needs, user needs and technology capabilities
Review, document and assess client eCommerce operations and technology
Develop and apply conceptual frameworks and analytical approaches
Stay current on key players and trends in the ecommerce industry and leverage this information appropriately
Coordinate and execute customer, vendor, market analyst, and client interviews, using qualitative and quantitative methods as appropriate, including ethnographic research,
in-context interviews, facilitated work sessions, focus groups, and surveys
Conduct primary and secondary research, data collection and market/competitor analyses
Perform financial analysis and develop business cases
Develop and present solutions and recommendations
Facilitate meetings, working sessions and workshops
Create strong working relationships with clients in business and IT roles
Support business development activities including client proposals
Stay on top of best practices in multi-channel retailing
Contribute to thought leadership through white papers and conference speaking engagements
Experience Guidelines:
5-8 years of relevant work experience with and online retailer; business analysis and consulting experience is a plus (ideally in eCommerce, marketing, merchandising, or operations)
Strong experience gathering and developing requirements from eCommerce solutions
Creativity with an eye to developing new and innovative solutions
Strong problem identification and analytical skills
Ability to effectively interact with senior clients
Experience working across organizations
Understands project lifecycle
Lead primary and secondary research & analysis
Financial analysis and business case development
Experience leading teams and motivating others to take action
Ability to structure and plan large projects/programs
Experience with process mapping and process redesign
New business opportunity identification
Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to create & deliver clear, powerful & concise presentations/proposals
Ability to plan and manage time and resources, establish priorities and meet goals
Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
Significant travel may be required as much of the work is done at the client site.
Education:
Ideal candidate will have an MBA or advanced degree in a relevant research discipline.
