Our Chicago,Illinois based Financial Services Client currently seeks a Sr. JAVA Developer for a 6 month project.RATE: Open (based upon experience and qualifications)RESPONSIBILITIES:-Converts Business requirements to system design and specifications. -Supports efforts with tight deliverables. -Supports IT group working closely with the Data Management team. -Uses expertise in tools to design, develop and maintain application software.-Provides support for existing applications. -Establishes and maintains control procedures for version control. -Monitors and tracks quality related issues and problems through to resolution. REQUIRED SKILLS: -Strong experience with Java and J2EE design, development and some architecture. -Strong experience with SQL Server development, stored procedures and triggers. -Experience with Ant framework a MUST!-Experience with Linux and Windows a MUST!-Proven experience with financial products. (Futures, fixed income, equities, etc.) is REQUIRED. -Self-managing, in a fast paced development environment. -Confident dealing with demanding business contacts. -Delivers on time quality projects by providing regular updates and milestones. -Extensive knowledge of software development life cycle and accepted practices (SDLC). -Strategic and analytical thinking skills with an ability to solve problems and make decisions. -Effective in communicating at both a technical and business level. DESIRED SKILLS:-YOLUS experience-Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture using web services-Experience with Spring and Hibernate frameworks.-Solid experience in XML using XSD and XSLT. -Working knowledge of AS400 operating system. -Advanced Java techniques utilizing threading, JNDI, JNI (Javaspace), JDBC, portlet API. -Solid experience in XML using XSD and XSLT. -Strong web programming skills (HTML, JavaScript, AJAX) for developing and maintaining web-based applications. -Configuration management using Subversion.
